Overview
Commonly known as SA Yacht Club, 310 W Grayson is a 7 tenant, multi-use complex consisting of shipping container buildings and mobile retail/food trucks. The structures are thoughtfully organized around a shared central courtyard designed to provide the feeling of being in a defined gathering space.
Measuring at around 6,200 s.f., the size of the site is smaller than most small residential lots. To most efficiently utilize the limited size of the site, double stacked 40’ long x 8’ wide salvaged shipping containers are placed across from each other on the two short edges of the site, defining the courtyard space in the middle. The mobile retail/food trucks are arranged around the courtyard to further define the outdoor common space. Each shipping container holds one distinct tenant with food and retail tenants on the first floor and AIRBNB/hospitality tenants on the second floor.
The shipping containers are wrapped in blond garapa hardwood held up by a light steel frame to create the street facing façade, provide semi-enclosed outdoor spaces, and provide covered shade awnings.
